I used to spend thousands of dollars a year on the best skin care products, I had the works; pre-cleansers, cleansers, scrubs, cleansing masks, hydrating masks, toner, day cream, night cream, eye cream and that’s not even the full list!
It took me a lot of time and money to realise that I can get the same results (if not better) when using completely natural products. Having said that, I am yet to come across 100% all natural and organic skin care products so I just make them myself, and with the money I’ve saved I am writing this post from Paris with love.
So rather than spending your hard earned cash on expensive products that are full of chemicals, give this all natural beauty regime a try - I’m sure you have most of these ingredients in your home right now!
Soak a face towel in warm water.
Combine 1-tablespoon good quality natural yoghurt with 2 teaspoons good quality olive oil and 1/2 a teaspoon of lemon oil (NOT lemon juice; lemon oil is an essential oil that can be found in health food stores).
Massage over your skin, avoiding the eye area, then wipe it off with the soaked warm cloth.
Cook some plain oatmeal using minimal water so it forms a thick paste.
Separately, combine 1-teaspoon honey with 1-teaspoon olive oil and mix into the cooked oatmeal.
Once cooled, apply as a scrub, gently rubbing it in small circles over your skin, avoiding the eye area, and rinse off rinse off with warm water.
Face Lifting Mask
After cleansing, combine 2 tablespoons good quality natural yoghurt and 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice (preferably from an organic lemon), and mix well.
Apply the mask to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Leave it on to dry for 20 to 30 minutes; you will feel it tightening on your face and neck, which creates the lifting and firming affect. If desired, you can leave it on for up to an hour to increase the affects.
Rinse off with warm water, and then again with cold water and gently pat your face dry before applying moisturiser.
Keep it simple with Argan Oil.
is a light, non-greasy and dry oil; a couple of small drops can be applied to
your face after cleansing as a daily moisturizer.
It’s important to test any homemade beauty recipes on sensitive skin, like the on the inside of your wrist, to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction to any ingredients. So always remember to do a quick patch test before applying anything yourself.
Before you go.
