Must have miracle skin and hair care products pop up too fast to keep track of. These often costly products are marketed as high end saviours, but more often than not, boast natural ingredients likely to be found in your kitchen, one being olive oil.
We all know the benefits of eating olive oil, but olive oil has been used for centuries for beauty. Olive oil is a natural hypoallergenic way to moisturize skin and treat hair. It contains a superpower of antioxidants, like Vitamins A and E that help repair and renew skin as well as hair that’s been damaged from overexposure to sun and harmful toxins in the air.
Here are 6 ways you can use olive oil for beauty:
Dehydrated hair is very common and olive oil is an excellent dry hair fighter. Simply apply some olive oil to your hair about 1 hour before you shower.
Massaging a small amount of olive oil to your skin will not only deeply moisturise and soften your skin but will give your skin a beautiful glow.
If you have sensitive skin you probably find it irritating to shave. Olive oil makes the perfect shaving lubricant.
In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of olive oil in warm water and soak your fingertips for about five minutes. You can even add some to your foot soak.
Oil base for homemade beauty products

Massage over your skin, avoiding the eye area, then wipe it off with the soaked warm cloth.
