it’s in the form of white sugar, fructose, glucose, brown sugar, dextrose or
sucrose. Sugar is harmful to your health.
Sugar contains no fat calories but causes excess calories to be stored as fat, spikes insulin levels, and when frequently consumed, can induce a pre-diabetic state. It can also cause many health problems such as Alzheimer's, arthritis, some forms of cancer, colitis and dermatitis to name a few.
Sugar contributes to mood swings, causes attention deficit issues and also stresses out cells in your body, reducing fundamental nutrients which inturn weakens the immune system.
That’s why I use Stevia.
Stevia is a natural sweetener that has been used for centuries in South America. Derived from the sweet leaf plant, Stevia is a healthy alternative for sugar as it’s completely natural.
It’s carb and calorie free, which makes it guilt free! And it doesn’t stop at sweetening your tea or coffee. Stevia can be used when cooking a variety of dishes, of course there are some recipes where sugar is the key ingredient, like meringues.
Studies have shown than Stevia helps lower blood pressure, making it an ideal sweetener for those with high blood pressure.
With its antibacterial properties, Stevia can also aid in fighting cavities and gingivitis so if you make your own toothpaste like me, add some to your recipe.
As it's completely natural, Stevia has no side effects, which makes it more beneficial to the human body than sugar and artificial sweeteners. Just bear in mind that it’s 300 times sweeter than sugar, so you only need to use the smallest amount.
